Claudiu Marius Bora, 33, who was born in Romania, arranged to meet his victim at the Provo Temple. They went on a hike in Rock Canyon on July 6, where according to documents filed in 4th District Court, he tried to kiss the victim, but she rebuffed his advances.
Upon returning from the hike, the victim tried to get in her SUV, when Bora shoved her in the back seat where she was assaulted, reported the website.
In an article in the Salt Lake Tribune, “during the assault, police said the woman tried to fight off Bora and said, ‘No.’ Bora allegedly kept telling the woman, ‘Didn’t you know that no means yes.’” The woman’s skirt was torn during the assault and she suffered lacerations to her genitals.
After Bora was arrested, he posted bond, according to jail records. He was released because, according to Provo Police Sgt. Brandon Post, Bora had no criminal history.
However, according to USU Eastern Police, James Prettyman, he was talked to twice about stalking women on campus. Quote:
While a student at the Price campus, he was a pre-nursing major, a yell leader on the cheer squad, a performing member of the dance department and worked in the campus bookstore. He left campus after spring 2011.
He was on campus in April 2012, handing his wedding announcements to numerous people.
He is scheduled for an initial court appearance on Nov. 1.
