Cosmetology department raises $2,400 for cancer patient
USU Eastern’s cosmetology department students raised almost $2,400 in its annual “Let’s Nail Cancer” event on Sept. 24-25 to donate to Kenzlee Cook as she battles cancer. Cosmetology associate professor Debbie Prichard said, we make an effort each semester for our students to give back to our community. This year we chose to financially help the Cook family with expenses associated with fighting cancer. The students raised over $2,400 in two days giving manicures and pedicures. “We appreciate all the community members who always support the students in our program. The phones were busy both days as community members made appointments for the manicures and pedicures given by the cosmetology students. It’s long days for the students, but rewarding for everyone involved,” she said.
