Wrapup of ASCEU meetings

ASCEU’s weekly meetings the past two weeks involved making everything go smoothly for major activities (CEU Idol), the new publicity policy, and swearing in of the student senate. They had many discussions these two weeks including the new publicity policy and swearing in the senate.
This publicity policy is something that most colleges are trying to implement to organize all the posters, fliers and anything else in designated areas. This  should make the college buildings cleaner and look a lot better.

If anyone wants to put something up to publicize an event, you must go to Sharon Jones’ office on the second floor of the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center and get it stamped.
If a flier is put up and not stamped, it will be taken down. After a flier has been up for two weeks, it will be taken down as well. If anyone has any questions about this policy, see Jones, Aaron Atwood or Cami Cox.
ASCEU organized a full senate for the academic year. This has only been done once and President Nick Deeter is exited to have a full group this year.
To receive student’s comments, a Comment-Question Concern Box was added in the ASCEU booth located on the main floor of the JLSC. This box is for students input about ASCEU and ideas to be discussed in their weekly meetings. The papers either have a name signed or be unsigned.
ASCEU would also like students to know that there are still student ID cards available to print.
Anyone that needs a card to get into campus activities can go to the booth or their office and get one printed.
Residence hall students need to made aware that health and safety checks will be coming up soon. They are scheduled once a month so everyone in the residential halls needs to clean up before the checks. There will be a prize awarded for the cleanest room.
On Tuesday the flag football tourney began with six teams participating. There can still be sign ups for teams but the team captain needs to contact Keith Hughs.
He is looking for some female teams for the tourney  if any females want to play, call him. If enough females want to play, they can be added to the male teams.
One final discussion was about non-residents being let into the dorms after hours. This is a big problem in the AJ Hall.
People that don’t go to CEU are either getting let in or getting in another way and are running around creating noise and distractions to the residents.
The council asked if anyone sees this going on, they need to talk to the residential adviser.
