CEU business team excels at national competition
Three students from the College of Eastern Utah won first place in the business-decision-making category at the National Leadership Conference and Business Competition for Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) recently in Anaheim, Calif.
David Craig, from Price; Randon Kerr, South Jordan; and Victor Rosen, Huntington; took first place at the national competition along with a $750 cash prize donated by the CAN Foundation.

Other CEU students competing included Erica Burge and G. Danielle Warner, both of Price; who placed seventh in the business presentation competition. Kevin Howard, Sacramento, Calif., placed 10 in the cyber-security competition.
“I am really happy with the results and the effort put forth by all the competitors. This is such a great opportunity for business students to learn and lead,” CEU business team member Randon Kerr said.
CEU administration, faculty and staff as well as members of the PBL team, thank the individuals, clubs, and businesses who donated money to sponsor their competition trip to California. Without the help of these generous donors: Bill Barrett Corporation, Price Kiwanis, Market Express and Hydraulic Repairs, Inc., the team would have been unable to compete and represent CEU and the state of Utah at the national competition.
The purposes of the conference were to promote careers in business, offer workshops in business leadership and determine national titles in 57 separate categories of business competition.
Nearly 1,800 students gathered from across the nation to compete in the three-day event. The students who competed in these events, previously had to qualify at the state level in order to move on to participate in the national competition.
FBLA-PBL is the largest business career student organization in the world. The high school division has 215,000 members, while the postsecondary division reaches over 11,000 college students. College competitors represented both two- and four-year institutions from colleges and universities.
