Jessica Jessop is a sophomore from Brigham City. She has a brother and two sisters and her major is criminal justice. Jessop is the SUN Center student leader over Head Start, which is a preschool for 3 and 4-year-old children. The volunteers help teachers with assignments and work with the children. Jessop chose this project because “I love working with children. It’s great because the kids look forward to having you come.”
She has also served on other projects and enjoys service because, “I like to make people happy and not only does it put a smile on their face, but on mine as well, because I know that I have given some of my time to help out.”
In her free time, Jessop likes to spend time outdoors, go camping, travel, scrapbook, play games and spend time with family and friends. One of her most embarrassing moments happened when she was on a date. “We were bowling and I stepped too far onto the lane and slipped and fell.”
Kathy Murray, SUN Center director, is excited to have Jessop as a leader. “Jessica is always enthused about life and service and even though she’s busy with her own project she never passes up the opportunity to do more. She’s a great example of service to others.”
