Women’s Conference on April 13
Topics like “We Should Have a Tea Party: J. Bracken Lee and the Right Wing Movement of the 1950s,” “Budget Investments for the Future” and “Wanted: Women in Politics” are three of the 12 workshops offered in USU Eastern’s 33rd Annual Women’s Conference set for Friday, April 13, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center.
USU Eastern’s Dr. Susan Neel will discuss her research on Lee, Zions Bank’s Joel Hatch will use her expertise on budgets and Rep. Christine Watkins will talk about how women need to get more involved in politics.

Other workshops include Wills and Trusts for Women by attorney Mark Tanner; “I Almost Divorced My Husband, But Went on Strike Instead” and “The Alias” by authors Sheri Mills and Mandi Tucker Slack; “Fitness and Eating Right” by Jeri Timothy; “The Final Cost of Living” by Nanette Tanner; “Entertaining at Home: Throw a Party” by Jamie Eskelson; “Life Continues to be an Adventure” by Larae Majors; “Never Too Late to Go to College” by Dr. Michelle Fleck; “Prepare Your Meals in Half of the Time” by USU Extension’s Ellen Serfustini and “Healthy You, Healthy Skin” by Dr. Karen Radley.
KSL Television’s resident shrink and food blogger “Jamie Cooks It Up” keynote the morning and afternoon sessions.
Dr. Liz Hale, KSL Television and radio correspondent, is an expert in family and relationships. A former radio host of Bonneville’s “Dr. Liz Hale Show,” she has become a household name to many. As KSL Studio 5′s resident shrink, she discusses a wide variety of hot-topics ranging from sex to stress (sometimes in the same segment).
Jamie Eskelson has been blogging about food since 2009. Her goal is to help regular folks cook fabulous food. She posts recipes two to four times each week with photos and step-by-step instructions. Each post comes with a commentary about the recipe. She says everyone can learn to be a great cook; it just takes a little instruction, a great recipe and time to practice.
The Outstanding Woman of Southeastern Utah will be presented by last year’s winner Debbie Prichard.
