Commencement to honor 320 graduates of the Class of 2022

Utah State Eastern’s 2022 commencement will be in person inside the Bunnell-Dmitrich Athletic Center
on April 30. The ceremony, which begins at 10 a.m., will honor 320 graduates, who have earned 370
degrees and certificates.
The ceremony will be conducted by Associate Vice President Greg Dart. Guest speaker will be Mike
Mower, senior advisor to Utah Gov. Spencer Cox. Prior to Mower’s remarks, class valedictorian Ella
Bradley and student body president Bryson Pugh will speak.
Dart will introduce the Val J. Halamandaris Caring Award recipient, Stevie Hanna. USU President Noelle
E. Cockett will then confer degrees. Laurel Cannon Alder, USU Alumni President, will conclude the
ceremony with a greeting to graduates, followed by the recessional.
Graduates will be given a diploma cover at the ceremonies. Actual diplomas will be mailed about 8-10
weeks after graduation.
The commencement requires no tickets and there are no restrictions on the number of friends and
family members who can attend. Each person who requires disability seating can have one other person
sit in the area with them. Other seating in the BDAC cannot be reserved.
Participants should wear authorized caps and gowns. The deadline to buy regalia from the USU Campus
Store was April 20. Graduates are asked to wear the academic costume that corresponds to their
degree. Each part of the regalia has a traditional meaning specific to the major, Utah State University,
and higher education. Graduate degree candidates should come in full regalia.
A short practice meeting will be April 28 at noon in the Geary Theatre where line-up and procession
information will be given.
